Weekend Update

They are continuing to work on the inside and enclosing the house from the outside. Friday was a complete washout, but they were able to work on Saturday. Here is what it is looking like now.

Keeping at it!

The framers were busy again today working on the roof pitches and the bonus room above the garage. It's so nice to see consistent progress, finally! Once again, though, we are expecting rain this week. It held off last week, so we're praying for a repeat of nice weekend weather.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, we were thinking of all of you! We enjoyed our first TN Christmas, it was a bit different than what we're used to...50s with sun and a blue sky!

More Framing

Here are some more pictures. They will now be working on the bonus room, scrapbooking room/office, and the roof. The framers are planning on working tomorrow and Sunday, weather permitting, it is supposed to rain tomorrow night. Hopefully they will get at least one good day in before the rain starts.

Moving Along....Slowly

They have finally started working on the upper level areas. Here are some pictures of the progress.

Framing Continues

All of the framing for the main level was completed on Friday. We are expecting cool, but dry, weather this week. Framing is expected to be completed by Friday. Merry Christmas to us!

Walls are Going Up

We had a minor slow down due to the rain yesterday and this morning. We were thrilled that they were able to get out there this afternoon and continue framing. They didn't get started until 3:00 today, but they did get a lot accomplished in just 2 hours. We can actually see the rooms now!

Framing Continued!!

They really took advantage of the 76 degrees we were blessed with today and got all of the main floor decking done. We also have the garage walls up. They are predicting rain for the next few days, and we are praying that it will not slow them down too much. Enjoy the pictures!!!

Framing has Begun

The weather didn't cooperate for the framers to get started on Friday last week, it was in the low 40s and raining all day. Today the rain finally let up and they were able to get started. The I-Joists (for the flooring) are all done. Unfortunately, for picture taking purposes, Steven had to work the day shift today, so it was too dark to take pictures. He'll be out there right away tomorrow though to take pictures and supervise (you know, as the Engstrom boys like to do...right, Rick?). The framing foreman said they should be done in 1.5 - 2 weeks, just in time for Christmas!
Oh, and besides the rain, the weather has been unseasonably warm since Saturday! It was 72 degrees on Sunday. We're expecting to break another record tomorrow with 73 degrees. The normal temps for this time of year are in the 50s. WE LOVE IT!!!

Lumber Update

Our lumber finally arrived today!!! Seems like we've been waiting forever. The framers are supposed to be there tomorrow morning at 7 am to get started. We're praying that the rain/sleet stops tonight so there's no more delays!

Our temps are supposed to keep increasing through the weekend, hopefully reaching the 70s by Sunday! Gotta love our TN weather!
