Sorry for the little hiatus we took in our journaling, things have been progressing...slowly as usual. Here's a little recap of the last 2 weeks:
Electrical and plumbing were started on Tue. 1/29, and should be finishing up this week.
It's been nice having shingles on the house, too bad they're the wrong color! Yup, they need to be taken off and replaced with the right color, hopefully this week. There was a miscommunication between our contractor, Lee, and the shingle company about the address of the house where we picked out the color. Lee is taking the fall on that one. It really is too bad that perfectly good shingles are going to go to waste.
The HVAC (heating and air conditioning) is going to get started tomorrow too. Our bathtubs, showers, and toilets have all been ordered, amazing the options you have in toilets! Steven picked high performance/high efficiency toilets (which basically means he was excited by their flushing capabilities). I will admit, it is pretty cool. They also have "slow-close" seats that are also quick release (removable) for cleaning...translation: no slamming seats, and easier for Steven to clean!
Pictures will be slim for a little while, wires and pvc piping aren't too exciting.
Also, just wanted to let you all know that we survived all the storms that rolled through here last Tue. night. Right in Hendersonville there wasn't any damage, but in our county there was severe damage. Most of the damage was about 30 miles from us. Steven was at work while Sadie and I hung out in our airplane-size bathroom. She thought that was a real treat, she couldn't even turn around...one way in, one way out! We're grateful the storm passed us by, but it is devestating seeing the pictures and hearing the stories of the homes and lives torn apart by the storms.
