Sorry it's been so long since our last post, but I'm going to try to catch things up.... The HVAC was completed in the time frame they told us up front; there's a first time for everything! The framing, electrical, and plumbing still aren't completely done. They all have loose ends that need to be finished up. And by loose ends, I mean literally only one day's worth of work for each.
All of our tubs and showers were delivered and installed, with exception of the master tub...it needed to be re-ordered because they put the drain and motor on the wrong sides. It was ordered correctly, just delivered wrong.
The french doors were delivered, but haven't been installed yet (thank you framers).
The new shingles were put on...but they still aren't the right color. We went from a dark charcoal gray/almost black to a dark brown; we picked out a much more neutral color. The shingle company promises they have the right color, but they don't, it's not even close. But, we decided that we're going to wait until the brick goes on to see how it looks. We really hate to waste another set of shingles. We're praying that this is a, "gosh, I'm glad they did this wrong, it looks really good" type of situation!
Now an update for the month of March so far...
The brick was finally delivered (only 2 weeks later than expected). We've met with the cabinet guy to plan them out. He has all the information now and he knows what we want...maple cabinets with a ginger color glaze. Now we just wait for him to come up with 3D drawings for us and the price! We're super excited to see the drawings, not so much to hear the price!
Steven is almost finished running all his wiring. He decided to run all the cable and telephone wire himself. That's not been easy trying to figure out where we want all that to be in each room! The nice thing is that we have attic space above and a crawl space under the whole house, so if we miss something now, he can always add it later...it just won't be as easy!
Our gas lines should be run this week, but we won't hold our breath. Not sure when they'll start putting the brick on the house, but we'll be taking pictures and posting them as soon as they do!
Thanks for your patience in our lack of postings. Hopefully more pictures coming soon!
