The painters are finally supposed to start today. They came through last week and did as much caulking as they could, so hopefully they don't have much prep work to do today. Lee says they should be done in 2 days, with two coats of paint. I'll be surprised if they're really done in two days, but I sure hope Lee is right!

We Have Countertops!
Our countertops were installed yesterday, and we love them! They look really nice with the cabinets too. Our propane tank was also installed yesterday. No pictures of that, it's not too exciting.

Cabinets are In!
Our cabinets were installed on Tuesday. We love them. They are exactly what we wanted. Today, the measurements were taken for the granite counter tops.
To our surprise, all the bathroom sinks were delivered with the cabinets on Tuesday. This came as such a surprise to us because we never picked them out! Lucky for them, they had sent a white swirl color and we like it. It's probably what we would've picked anyway, so we thought we'll just go with it.

We finally had a drywall crew show up to work on some patch work. We're hoping they get done today or tomorrow. The grading has also been started. Hopefully today the dirt was delivered so they can finish the grading.

It's Something
Our cabinets were delivered yesterday! No pictures yet, but they are supposed to be installed today, so stay tuned. Our front door should also be put on today...it's been in town for a few days, but Lee didn't want to bring it to the house until the cabinets were delivered. We can't wait to see this door we've been waiting on for months!
Retraction: remember last fall I talked about our neighbors that we thought might be exhibitionists? Well, we don't think they really are. To their credit, they did put window coverings on their bathroom and bedroom windows. However, that doesn't mean that they won't keep things interesting for us. Yesterday we learned that they built a compost bin in their back yard. Last weekend, we saw our neighbor making several trips with a wheelbarrow over to where the horses are...well, now we know why. The owners of the horses have graciously offered all the horse manure to him that he'd like.
This brought an idea to us. We thought we'd be neighborly too, and offer to let Sadie do her business in their yard. Do you think he'll go for it?
More tomorrow...

The Garbage is Gone!
The pile of garbage that has occupied the area in front of our garage for months is finally gone! Besides the garbage being picked up, there wasn't much else done this week. The drywall crew we were expecting all week never showed up...and they still haven't.
We talked to Lee today, and he said that the painters are going to start on Monday with their prep work and they'll just work around the areas that need to be fixed. Right. We'll see how that turns out.
Our cabinets are supposed to be delivered on Monday too. Hopefully we'll have fun pictures to post next week!

Here's a picture with the brick completely finished. We're so glad to have the front porch area finished!

As usual, things aren't moving along like we want them to, but that's just been our story since day one! In the last couple of weeks, our garage door was installed and the brick finally is finished on the outside of the house. We also are just about done with all the tiling that we're going to do. We've just finished the master bathroom around the tub and the jack and jill bathroom around the toilet.
The pile of garbage in front of our garage door is supposed to be gone today...I sure hope it is! And we absolutely love our garage door opener. I've included a picture of the tracks, but pictures can't demonstrate how quiet the door is, it's really nice!

Steven perfectly cut these circles in the tile, definitely not easy, but it turned out so nice!

This week we're expecting all of the final trim things to be finished along with the front porch. The bobcat is out there, so we should have the grading done too. If all goes well, the painters are supposed to start on Thursday. We're still waiting on some of the drywall to get patched. Hope to have more pictures soon!
