More Firsts

First trip to the park on Monday...slept through all of it!



First trip to a college campus! We visited Lipscomb University, Jennifer's alma mater. This is the famous bison that gets repainted frequently. Mackenzie found a chunk of layered paint that came off the bison, it's pretty cool!



First bonfire! Steven and his Dad built the fire pit last weekend. It was a perfect evening for hotdogs and s'mores.





And, on a side note...we had Addy's cardiology appointment last Wednesday, and everything went well. The doctor said it was a normal newborn heart murmur, nothing to worry about. He'd like to recheck it in 3 months, just to be conservative.

Addy's Affirmation Weekend

This past weekend we celebrated Addy's baptism with an Affirmation at church. She was baptized in the hospital the day she was born, so this was a celebration of that at church. Both sets of grandparents were here along with her Godparents. Addy has been so spoiled with so much attention! She's loving it. And we're loving the extra help!

This is the only close up picture I have of Addy in the baptism gown. It is so special she was able to wear it. My mom and her siblings wore it, and I wore it for my baptism.

Chris made her cake. It was absolutely beautiful and super delicious!



My cousin, Jennifer, and her family are here until Saturday. And, truth be told, Addy doesn't really need me this week. Mackenzie has everything under control! She is such a huge help, she pretty much tends to Addy's every need. The only thing I haven't convinced her to do yet is take on diaper duty! Katie loves helping too, but not quite as much as Mackenzie.

All Smiles!

I think Addy has been "intentionally" smiling more these days, but today there was no doubt! We were in conversation being silly and then she just smiled a huge smile. I grabbed my camera quickly hoping she would repeat that gorgeous smile, and she did! She is so expressive when she's wide awake, I love watching her make faces. This one is by far my favorite!



And, she slept really well again last night! She slept from 11:15-4:20 and then until 8:00 again! Good sleep = happy mommy and happy baby! What a sweetheart.

4 Weeks Old!

It's hard to believe that Addy is 4 weeks old already! In some ways it seems like she's been around for a long time, but for the most part I can't believe how fast time is going. She also had her best night of sleep last night. She's always been pretty good sleeping 3-4 hours between feedings, but last night she slept from 11:15-4:00 a.m., ate and was back in bed by 4:15 and slept until 8:00! Mommy REALLY appreciated that! It's our first stretch of just being the two of us at night while Steven is working. We've had both grandmas here previously. So far, so good! Hopefully she'll keep it up.

She's Growing!

Addy had a doctor appointment yesterday. She's up to 8 lbs 6.5 oz and 21.75" long. She has a heart murmur that the doctor wants us to have checked out with a cardiologist next week. The pediatrician isn't too concerned, she just wants it checked for good measure. Our appointment is next Wednesday.

She's completely outgrown all things "newborn". She's wearing 0-3 mo. pretty well right now. I'm dreading finishing the box of newborn diapers that we have open right now because I think she'll fit into the size 1 diapers and we won't need anymore newborns!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We had a great one. Grandma and Grandpa L. are here to celebrate with us. It's late, so I'm keeping this one short and sweet. Addy looked positively adorable in her Easter dress today. She slept through church, but she looked super cute doing it!

Easter Bunny

We've had a busy couple of days of taking pictures! On Wednesday, we went to the mall to have Addy's picture taken with the Easter Bunny. She did so well! We were quite impressed with her, as was the photographer who took her picture. She said Addy was the youngest baby and the best baby to pose she's ever taken a picture of! Grandma L. found Addy's Easter dress for us, and she looks like a doll in it! So cute.

Then yesterday we took Addy to get her newborn pictures taken. We took her right before her normal nap time since we wanted some pictures of her sleeping. She did really well considering we were totally messing with her and every time she would start to doze off, they'd take her picture and the flash would wake her up again! We got several great pictures, we're really happy with them. The only problem is that we have so many pictures, we don't know enough people to give these pictures to! Our house is now a shrine to all things Addy. We love it!





We just can't get over how long she is! People make comments when we're out about how tiny she is, but when she stretches out, she is so long!



And, Addy rolled over for the first time on Wednesday night. She was on the couch lying on her tummy and she managed to roll herself to her back! Wow was she mad! Such a strong little girl. We now can't consider the couch a safe place for her to sleep unless the ottoman is pushed right up next to it!

Fun Baby

It was chilly and windy outside today, so we had a nice day hanging around the house. Addy and I took an afternoon nap together on the couch...that is the best! Tomorrow is going to be nice again, so we'll try to get out and about.

Such a good sleeper! I really love to cross my legs when I sleep.

Another Nice Weekend

Not too much is new around here. We had another nice, relaxing weekend. Grandma E. came back on Saturday to stay with us until Thursday. Steven had to go back to work last night, and we sure missed him! Addy did really well overnight, though. She slept 4 hours between feedings!

For Palm Sunday yesterday, this is the dress she wore to church. You'll have to take my word for it that she looked absolutely adorable in it...she filled her diaper and her tights before we could get a picture of her in it! Note to self: take pictures as soon as she gets dressed, don't wait until after church to take pictures!



And it was such a beautiful day yesterday we had her in this cute spring outfit. This angle doesn't show the outfit that well, but it was super cute. Too bad she still needs to wear the mittens on her hands, it looks like she has boxing gloves on! We've tried to keep her nails filed and trimmed, but she still manages to scratch herself.

Easy Going

Our sweet Adeline is so easy going! We haven't been up to much the past couple days. We had some thunderstorms come through our area yesterday. The weather was much more severe in areas around us, we just got a fair amount of rain. The thunder didn't bother Addy at all, she slept right through it. Here is a picture of her during the loudest part of the storm, and yes, we do let her sleep on her tummy! She sleeps so much better that way.



This morning I took this picture of her in her green night gown. She just looked so cute! And, she was wide awake!
