Happy Memorial Day

Addy wanted to salute all those that have and continue to fight for our freedom! Hope all of you are having a great Memorial Day!

We've had a great weekend around here. We spent Friday and Saturday working in the yard. Addy really loves being outside!

Her daddy is really enjoying his new toy...sure beats push mowing the yard! He used it to pull out a stump, too. Boys and their toys. I'm actually very excited for him too. He can now mow the yard in an hour instead of the 3 hours it was taking him! It's perfect timing as our days will continue to get hotter as we move into summer. We've been enjoying the low 80s, but we know it won't be long before the 90s will be here and stick around for a while!

2 Month Check-up

Addy had her 2 month check-up yesterday, which included shots. She didn't like them, but was easily consoled once they were done. She has grown so much! She now weighs 10 lbs 10 oz and is 23.25" long. The doctor said she is doing really well. We were also excited that the doctor said she couldn't hear Addy's heart murmur anymore!

This is the picture of our sweet baby sleeping through the night! On Wednesday night she slept from 11:30-8:00! Last night didn't go as well, she was running a bit of a fever from the shots. We felt badly for her, we could just tell she was having a tough night.

Grandma and Grandpa L. are here for the weekend. We have a graduation open house to go to on Sunday. Other than that, we'll just be hanging around the house, probably doing some yard work.

8 Weeks!

I think our baby is losing her newborn look! She is so expressive, it's fun to see what new thing she does each day. Unfortunately, she has a bit of a stuffy nose right now. I came home from MN with a sore throat and runny nose, and in the last couple of days, it seems like Addy has it too. She's such a trooper though, smiling through the snot!!! We sure love this little peanut.

Bumpers or no bumpers, I used to think there was no need for them since they aren't recommended once the baby can roll. Well, now I'm not so sure. We already let her sleep on her stomach, so why not break another rule? Yesterday she woke up about 30 minutes into a nap so I let her cry thinking she was just passing through a sleep cycle. Then, after 10 minutes her cry changed to a fit of rage. So I went in to check on her and this is what I found! No wonder she was mad! She was in the middle of her crib when I put her down, but as you can see, she scooted herself sideways to the top of her crib and was stuck. One arm through the slats and her head pressed up against them! Poor thing. Good thing she loves her pacifier, that's all it took along with moving her back to the middle of the crib to get her to calm down and go back to sleep!

We're Back!

Sorry for the blog hiatus, we've been out of town! Addy and I went to MN for Mother's Day weekend. It was a great first Mother's Day. We really missed Steven, but he had to work overtime because of graduation. We had a great trip visiting lots of our friends and family. It was fun for so many people to see Addy for the first time. Single most common comment heard when people see Addy: "you look just like your dad"! It was fun!

Addy was an awesome traveler. She did so well for me. I fed her during take off and then she slept the rest of the flight...both on the way to MN and on the way home! It was pretty funny to me how many people told me they "didn't hear a peep out of her the entire flight" when we landed, both times! I think people cringe when they see a baby get on an airplane, and then are so relieved if the baby does well during the flight. I was so thankful she traveled well because we were on a small 50 seater airplane, and there just isn't much room if you need it! The only part of the trip I'm bummed about is that I didn't get a single picture of Addy on the plane! There just wasn't any good way to try to get a picture. Oh well.

Addy and Grandma L. on Mother's Day.

Cousin Jack loved helping with Addy!

We were so excited to see Daddy when we got home!

Traveling is always a good time, but it's nice to be home. It just seems Addy is growing every day. She's so much fun and just full of smiles for us! We're so blessed to have such a sweet baby.

Then today, we were a bit nervous we had an Al Bundy wanna be...

6 Weeks!

I can't believe our sweet Adeline is 6 weeks old already! Time is flying by for us. I think she's changed more in the last week or so. She's smiling back at us all the time now, and raging much less during diaper changes and baths! She actually smiles during some diaper changes and hasn't cried during the last few baths. She's really starting to fill out, too! She just seems bigger to me. One thing that hasn't changed is just how sweet she is and we are still loving every bit of her!

"Mom, I totally just filled my diaper...can you change me so I can go to sleep? Thanks."

Sure, Addy. I felt and heard that one! Just let me take a quick picture.
