Weekend Update!

No, not SNL style, but I'm a bit behind so I'll do my best to catch up. Grandma & Grandpa L. were here from Wed.-Sat. with Aunt Diane. My mom's siblings all got together in GA for a few days, so they stopped and spent the end of the week with us! They took Addy out sight seeing one day and then they "taught" her to get into things...like the basket of magazines and newspapers. Thanks for that!

Such a happy girl!

We've also been having some absolutely perfect fall weather, and we've been enjoyin it! Here's Addy playing outside:

Now, for a few of my favorite pictures...our little snuggle bug:

This is how she woke up one morning! She pulled the blankets into the crib with her (they were hanging over the side of the crib) and then she gathered up the two pillows that are at the end of the crib and she layed there all snuggled in! So cute!

Our little darling is getting faster and faster every day with her crawling. She's really trying hard to figure out how to pull herself up on things, too. She's figured out how to do it in the bathtub. In her crib, she's only figured out how to get to her knees. But, now when she doesn't want to go to sleep she'll just sit in her crib and look out or get to her knees and not figure out how to get back down. So, Steven had to lower her crib to it's lowest setting! It's so funny to see her way down in the crib now!

Halloween Fun

Last Sunday we joined some friends at the zoo for some halloween fun. It was a great chance to get another use of Addy's costume. It was a really nice fall evening, falling into the 40s after the sun went down. Addy's bumble bee costume is perfect for that weather. She was nice and warm! The only thing that was cold was her nose. I was a little surprised she tolerated the hat the whole time, but she never complained about it at all. She had a great time taking it all in. She only cracked one or two smiles the whole evening because she concentrated so hard on what was going on around her. It was kind of funny. There were some mascots walking around the zoo and she liked them...not in a "I'll give you a smile" kind of way, but more "let me chew on your fuzzy hands" kind of way. Her favorite thing was that one of the booths gave out glow bracelets. She loved that! Here's some pictures of our fun night at the zoo!

Addy Crawling

I was able to capture Addy crawling on my camera tonight, so I thought I'd post it. This just might be the first of many more videos to come, it was so easy to figure this out, even I could do it!

I also think I have a new hobby, bow making! I love the flowers that attach to Addy's headbands, but we don't have enough to match all her outfits, so I thought I'd make some bows to fill in the gaps. It's been super fun! Here's a picture of some bows I've made already:

In the process of buying ribbon I discovered a new love...Hobby Lobby. It's been around forever, but I've never shopped in one before. Crazy! I could spend hours in there, there is so much to look at. Steven should consider himself lucky I haven't taken the time to go in there before!

She Did It!

Addy crawled yesterday! Grandma E. was the lucky one to see her do it for the first time. And, she even got it on video! Since I'm a bit technologically challenged, I don't have the video to upload on the blog. You'll just have to take me at my word! Such an exciting day, though. She crawled for me when I got home from work, but not while I was trying to get her on video. Every time I picked up the camera, she would belly flop!

Here's a couple cute pictures of Addy and Grandma E.

Turns out, Addy LOVES finger puppets! She just giggles and giggles over them. It is seriously the sweetest sound, ever!

New Friend

Addy and Grandma E. found a new friend on our back porch yesterday! They found this little caterpillar and Addy seemed to really be interested in it. Grandma had to show her how to be gentle with it!

Grandma has also been working with Addy on drinking out of a real glass. She's doing really well with it, and she likes it!

Grandpa had to leave yesterday to get back to work, but we got a nice picture of Addy with Grandpa and Grandma before he left!

6 Years Ago Today....

...we were married! It's been fun reminiscing about our wedding day. Our weather here was pretty similar to our wedding day, minus the rain (it only rained during the ceremony). It was a beautiful fall day here in the high 60s, unlike the weather in MN right now! They have snow... hahahahaha.

We've been truly blessed in our 6 years of marriage and this year it was extra special to celebrate with our little girl! She was thrilled to be taking a picture with us today. She was watching the football game on t.v.!

And just one year ago today, we found out we were having a girl! A friend of ours has a friend that works in ultrasound at the hospital near us and called in a favor for us! So it was a fun "extra" ultrasound just to find out what we were having. We went to lunch to celebrate afterwards and picked out Addy's name right then. The hardest part was we didn't tell anyone for 3 more weeks that we were having a girl so we could tell our parents in person when they came down for Steven's graduation from the police academy! That was hard, but so much fun!

We've been having lots of fun around here with Grandma and Grandpa E. in town. Steven has put his dad to work helping him with a few projects around here. They installed our sink in the laundry room, finally! It should've been done last year, when the house was built, but just didn't get done because we had to wait for the correct size counter top to be installed. They also put the old laundry room counter top out in the garage and put together a new cabinet for storage. Here are some pictures of their projects:

Steven's mom made a wonderful lasagna dinner for us tonight. Steven and I decided to wait a couple days to go out and celebrate our anniversary. His dad is only here until Tuesday afternoon, but we have his mom here all week!

Hope you all had a great weekend...especially those of you with snow!

She's Super Close...

...to crawling, that is! Addy wants to crawl so badly. She can get to her knees and rock back and forth really well. She can even move her knees, it's her hands she hasn't figured out how to move forward. She just belly flops when she tries to move her hands. Funny girl. It won't be long!

Yesterday Addy was able to go from her belly to sitting up by herself! She was too tired to show me when I got home from work, but Steven said she was doing it all afternoon for him. Maybe this weekend she'll show off her new trick to me and to Grandma and Grandpa E. They come into town on Friday to spend some time with us!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

It's been a fun weekend! We've been hanging out with friends, and we enjoyed the nice weather yesterday. Today, however, was a different story. We met up with some friends to see a fall scarecrow display at the botanical gardens, and it rained. It wasn't supposed to rain until tomorrow, then when the rain was headed our way, it was supposed to stay to our south...but it didn't. The kicker is that it was free admission weekend to the botanical gardens! Oh well, there's always next year.

Here's a picture of us, not at the botanical gardens today:

It wasn't all bad, we had a really great time having lunch! Their baby is only a month older than Addy, so it's always fun to see them interact.

Just a couple more cute pictures of Addy from today. She's been such a ham lately.

She's also trying so hard to crawl. She's getting close. She can get to her hands and knees and rock back and forth. After that, she just belly flops! It won't be too long though, which is exciting? Not sure, it's pretty nice right now that we can set her down and she stays put!
