Addy's MN Trip June 5-20...Part 2

I attended a conference for work for 5 days, and while I did that Addy went to Grandma & Grandpa E.'s house. She had so much fun there. Her cousins, Gabi and Ryan (ages 9 and 7 respectively), were also there to play with her! She really hated all the attention! :)

Addy got to do a lot of swinging and reading on the porch!

Grandma took the kids to a book signing to see "Dr. Jack" the helping dog. The story is about Dr. Jack giving a boy a tour of the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Jack is a real dog that visits real patients. It is such a sweet story and such a great service Mayo provides their patients! And how wonderful that Addy has her very own signed copy of the book!

Addy visited Great Granny (Steven's Grandma) and helped herself to the candy dish!

Addy liked their carousel horse, too!

It was nice the kids could play outside together. Addy really enjoyed all the space to roam! Grandma & Grandpa E. have a lot of land and Addy took advantage of that!

Addy's new rocking chair!

They also hit up this great park that Grandpa E. had a hand in. It looks so big!

We also got to visit with Addy's other cousins, Aiden and Eli (ages 7 and 5 respectively), while we were in MN. She had fun playing with them, and watching them play! They enjoyed picking out toys for her to play with and showing her how to use them.

Addy backing herself up to sit in Aiden's lap!

So much fun! Addy has so many people in her life that just adore her. Our family is blessed for sure!

Addy's MN Trip June 5-20...Part 1

I already mentioned in a previous post about the first weekend Addy and I went up to MN to be there for Grandma L.'s results of her CT scan. What I didn't mention was that we made it, but our suitcase didn't! Which is not typical when flying stand-by. Usually our luggage makes it and we don't! So, we were without everything. Thank goodness for Target! We made a quick stop there and found the only long sleeved/long pants outfit in the store. My parent's basement, where we sleep, stays pretty cool so shorts just wasn't gonna cut it! Oh, and let me tell you...the airplane was about 95 degrees inside before we took off, so we were, um, not fresh by the time we got there. Oh, and we were delayed a bit so we didn't get in until 9 pm.

In the morning, Grandma was washing Addy's clothes and new outfit, but it wasn't dry by the time she was ready for her morning nap, so we improvised! Addy borrowed one of Grandma L.'s pajama tops!

Addy enjoying some rhubarb crisp with Grandma L., and she loved it! This girl hasn't met a dessert she doesn't like yet!

Then we went to the man-made beach on a cold and mostly rainy day, but we had a good time and Addy loved playing in the water!

And, some video for the Grandparents!

Addy reading the phone book and Grandma reading the paper together on the deck:

Addy got to visit with Grandma L. during a chemo session!

And here's a picture of Addy sitting with Grandpa L. in one of her favorite spots! She spent a lot of time out there!

Then it was off to Grandma & Grandpa E.'s house...

15 Month Check-Up

This poor girl had 3 shots yesterday, and pretty much looked like this the rest of the day.

Steven said he massaged her legs for her and she really seemed to like that. She's got little knots where the shots were given. Oh, I can't wait till she's done with these shots! I hated the feeling of participating in her torture!

Her stats are staying pretty consistent. She's 23 lbs 6 oz and 31.5". So that puts her at 80 % on the scale for height and at 55 % for weight.

She's right where she should be with all the milestones as well, like feeding herself, saying a few words, and walking. She's just growing too fast in my opinion!

Happy (belated) Father's Day!

We're back! Addy and I flew back yesterday evening. It was so good to see Steven again! We both missed him so much! Steven said it was the best Father's Day gift he could've asked for, to have us back home again! Here's Addy with her daddy last night:

Getting her to actually look at the camera and smile at the same time is getting more and more difficult all the time! She's just such a stinker about it. Sometimes getting her to look at the camera at all is impossible!

Then tonight we were watering some of our flowers and Addy REALLY wanted to help. She loves the water! Her idea of helping was to play in it. And boy did she have fun!

She had to catch every last drop! Such a silly girl! And to be clear, we weren't spraying her with water, we were just holding it for her and she'd run through it, or drink it, or just stick her face in it!

So we had a great time in MN and we have a ton of pictures to prove it. :) That's code for me saying that our MN trip may take me a little while to get posted!!! Stay tuned...

Quick Update

Addy is in MN again! For 2 weeks!!! She and I flew up last Friday. My mom had a repeat CT scan to see how her lymphoma is responding to the chemo, and it is responding!!! The tumor has shrunk to half it's original size a after 2 cycles of chemo! Two down, 4 to go. We met with her doctor on Monday to get that news, so of course, I wanted to be there!

Then it just worked out that I have a conference for work in Minneapolis next week, so I'll be going back up on Friday. It was so weird flying home by myself last night! Steven and I have enjoyed 2 date nights with our precious angel not around. We went out to dinner last night and to a movie tonight! We love hanging out with our sweet girl, we just enjoy date nights, too!!!

Sorry, no pictures this time around. I left my camera in MN for my parents to take pictures this week while I'm not there. But, if I had some pictures to show you, it would include pictures of Addy on a beach! My cousin lives near a man-made beach with chlorinated water, to boot. It was great. The cold temp (like 70 degrees) and rain was kind of a bummer, but Addy loved playing in the water! I was surprised how much she enjoyed it since she was shivering after about 10 minutes! I do have video of this, so I'll post it when I get my camera back. :)
