Sorry for abandoning the blog for a little while. Hopefully this
very long post will make up for it!
Last week Thursday Steven, Addy, and I flew up to MN for a long weekend. Addy was a great little traveler, as usual. She didn't get much of her morning nap and no afternoon nap at all. Then with all the excitement she was up later than usual, too. Our sweet girl slept in until 10 a.m. on Friday morning! She's never slept in that late!
On Friday, Steven and I went to the Great MN Get Together! The State Fair! We LOVE the state fair and hadn't been since we moved 3 years ago. It was so good to be back! We went with some friends, so that made it all the more fun.
While we were at the fair, Grandma & Grandpa L. took Addy to the MN Zoo. My uncle John was there, too, so that was extra fun. Addy had never been to the zoo to see the animals. We took her to our zoo for halloween last year, but since it was night time, the animals weren't out. Addy had a great time, she loves animals!

Saturday one of my cousins hosted my dad's side of the family at her neighborhood's private beach on a lake. Addy really loved the jet skis. No, not actually
riding them, just sitting on them. And "driving" them. With Grandma. She sat with Daddy for a little bit, but she really preferred Grandma. :)

We took a pontoon ride, and I was really impressed she didn't mind wearing the lifejacket.

Just cute!

Sunday we spent the afternoon with Steven's family. Unfortunately, Grandma E. had to work, but we were so happy to spend time with the rest of the family! I love these pictures of Addy "talking" with her aunt Staci, Grandpa, Uncle Joel, and Great Granny!

Then Staci brought out the sidewalk chalk, and that was a big hit!

Monday my mom had a couple of doctor appointments. We met with the radiation oncologist in the morning and the medical oncologist in the afternoon. Chemo is done, she completed her last cycle on Aug. 11, and we are so grateful she tolerated it so well. We're also grateful that her last scan was completely CLEAR! She had a complete response to the chemo! Even with that great news, it was decided that some radiation would be beneficial to offer even better results of local control. Only 17 treatments is necessary, so that's really good news. The side effects will be minimal, mainly a sore throat and some reddening of the skin. Radiation starts on Tuesday, so keep her in your prayers!
Our flight home Monday night was very uneventful as well. We really are just so thankful that Addy is such a good traveler!
Just a couple more pictures from our weekend...Addy and Grandpa L. love to be outside together. They go for walks, sit in their chairs, and hang out in the garage!

...Grandma bought Addy a doll that came with a little carrier and a bottle. She loves to carry it around and she even caught on to feeding the baby really quickly. Check out the multi-tasking!

...And a bubble mohawk, courtesy of Grandma!

It was a great trip for sure. We've kept a pretty busy pace since we've been home, too. Now we're looking forward to a long weekend to hang out and maybe camp in the backyard!? We'll see. Stay tuned!
