July 15-24 Review

So, once Addy and I got home from MN, we spent a few days getting caught up around the house. We were also preparing for Steven to leave the following weekend. Steven left on Friday after work to go out to San Francisco for a few days to help his brother and sister-in-law move into their new house. He was gone from Friday - Tuesday.

So what did Addy and I do while he was gone? Let me show you!

Saturday we did our normal My Gym class in the morning, came home for lunch and a nap, then our friends invited us to their church's family fun day. They had a bunch of water activities set up outside. They had big slides and little slides, pools, sprinklers, the whole works. Addy loved all the small stuff. The big slide she did go down once, but that was enough for her!

After the kids had their fill of water activities, we moved on to some bounce houses! Addy loved all of them. She was thrilled to be able to jump!

Next they moved on to making slime!

So that was our Saturday!

Sunday evening my aunt and uncle, Linda and Jim, came over with Mackenzie and Katie to stay at our house for a few days to help watch Addy while Steven was gone and I worked. And I should point out that Mackenzie was babysitting Addy. She made sure everyone knew that she was responsible for taking care of Addy! We had asked her ahead of time, and she accepted the job, and she just wanted to make sure no one took her job away from her!

Mackenzie got Addy ready to go on Monday morning, and made sure that they all had matching bows!

Jim did us a HUGE favor, too. Well, several favors over the couple days they were here. He picked up the new big girl bed we picked out for Addy. We didn't realize how big it would be, but it filled the whole bed of their truck! So not only did he pick the bed up for us, but by the time I got home from work, it was almost completely assembled!

After moving a few things out of her room, it was looking like this:

Mackenzie and Katie were sleeping on the mattress we planned to use on Addy's new bed, so she had to wait just one more night to sleep on her new bed. She didn't care, she slept just fine!

Here's a cute picture of Mackenzie helping Addy brush her teeth. Even when I was home, Addy preferred Mackenzie to do things for her! Which I think is so sweet, by the way. I love how much Addy looks up to Mackenzie and Katie. She just loves them!

So Tuesday the 19th, was Addy's first night sleeping in her new bed. She did great! She's done great every night since, too.

We still need to find her some bedding, a nightstand, and a bookshelf. But, it will come together eventually. The month of July has just been so busy!

Okay, so that brings us up to this past weekend! We helped our neighbors with a garage sale on Saturday, which went really well! We were able to sell a lot of stuff we no longer wanted to store! You know, the things you just hang onto in case you might want it? We were really surprised how much traffic we had since we're a bit off the beaten path. My neighbor put an add on Craigslist and that must be the way to go!

On Sunday Chris, Jen and the girls came over for dinner to celebrate my birthday a little early. Mackenzie and Katie made one of my favorite desserts, Mississippi Fudge cake! Oh, it was so delicious! Jen made it for me last year, twice...because she set the marshmallows on fire in our oven the first time she made it! Mackenzie was very proud that she made it without setting anything on fire! Addy LOVED it!

July 3-10 Review

Wow, it's been a long time! Sorry for the huge delay, things have been so busy I haven't even turned the computer on this whole time! Let's get started with Addy's week up north July 3-10.

If you'll remember, she went home with my parents from my cousin's wedding in Atlanta.

Once they got back to MN, they went up to Lake Mille Lacs for the week. Here's a slew of pictures of all the fun they had!

That was their week at the lake! I flew up on Friday night for the weekend. Steven had to work, so it was just me.

A friend of mine from grade school, Stephanie, got married in Hong Kong in December and was home to celebrate with a reception for their friends and family in MN on Saturday night. We've been friends since 5th grade! I hadn't actually seen Stephanie in almost 6 years! She's been living in Hong Kong since she graduated from college.

Here's a picture of us together at the reception. I wish so badly I would've requested a second picture because I had a feeling I was trying not to blink at just the wrong time! Hence the deer-in-the-headlights look! Oh well, it's a great picture of Stephanie and Ivan!

I have one more cute picture of Addy from that weekend in MN. My uncle, Dale, made some bunk beds for my dolls when I was probably 3 or 4 years old, and my parents still have them. Addy loves to play with them, and my dolls, from when I was little. Only this time, she decided to give a doll one bed and she used the other one!

One More...

This was Addy at 1:10 am this morning! I woke up again, and checked on her, and I just had to snap another picture before putting her back in bed!

We're Back

We're all back home together again, for a short while at least! I'll write about Addy's week up north next time, but I wanted to just squeeze in a couple cute pictures from this week, so far.

First, Addy is doing really well with her crib converted to a toddler bed. She's fallen out twice, so I put the pillows back on the floor. Both times she went back to bed just fine.

Recently, we picked up a video monitor. We'd always said it would've been nice to have one since she was an infant, but it's helpful to have it now, too. Anyhoo, so last night I woke up at 3:30 and checked the video monitor. This is what I saw!

Sweet girl. I had to grab my camera before I put her back in bed! She never even noticed. :)

Secondly, Addy made us laugh so hard when she grabbed a rubber glove out of Maggie's basket and started bending over pretending to pick up poop! We were all sitting in the living room when she started doing this, and we asked her, "Addy, what are you doing"? Her reply with out skipping a beat, "picking up poop".

This is exactly how Steven picks up Maggie's poop! We just laughed. Then, out of the blue Addy walks over to me and says, "Mommy, eat it". What? Seriously? Where on earth did she get that?

4th of July Weekend

Addy and I went to Atlanta for the weekend to attend my cousin, Amanda's, wedding. We left Friday afternoon and got to the hotel about 9 pm. Unfortunately, Steven had to work the weekend and wasn't able to go with us. I made the mistake of telling Addy that we needed to pack her suitcase to go to Grandma's house on Thursday night (Addy went home with my parents to MN after the wedding, more on that later). All day Friday she just kept saying, "Grandma's house". While we were driving I was giving Addy dinner options. Her response? "NO! Grandma's house"! So I made the executive decision and we had Subway!

After we got to the hotel we visited with some of my family for a few minutes, then it was time for bed. Well, after Addy jumped on the bed for a while! She LOVED jumping on the bed.

Saturday morning we hung out around the hotel swimming and visiting with family. Addy showed Grandma a few of her new tricks from swimming lessons. She even blew bubbles!

After lunch Addy settled in for a nap!

Then it was time to go to the wedding! Amanda and Dusty picked a gorgeous location to get married. Here's some pictures from the wedding:

It was so much fun! It was great to see that side of our family again, too.

Sunday we went to my Aunt Carol's house for gift opening and lunch. Then it was time to say goodbye. I drove home and Addy went to MN with my parents! They had a great flight back, and now they're up at the lake for the week! I'll be going up this weekend to attend a friend's reception (she got married in Hong Kong in Dec.). Then I'll bring Addy home on Sunday.

Steven and I have been super busy without Addy here. We had Chris, Jen, the girls, Chris, Wendy, and Connor over on Monday the 4th. We played wiffle ball in the back yard, had a bon fire and ate s'mores, and then Chris W. set off fireworks for us! It was really fun, but we really missed Addy! No pictures though, I sent our camera to MN! Last night and tonight we've been getting some big organizing projects done. We're preparing to give Addy a big girl room. We've been looking at bedroom furniture and such as well. Fun stuff ahead!
