Early Voting

Last Saturday was the last day to early vote in our city, and the most convenient day for me to vote.  Katie had spent the night with us, so she and Addy came with me to vote.  Honestly, I was expecting about an hour wait, but we actually stood in line for 2.5 hours!  The first 45 minutes we had to stand outside, and it was cold and windy!  But the girls didn't complain.  They just played!

In fact, they NEVER complained once the entire 2.5 hours.  I mean, these two had every reason to complain...we were there through lunch time and beyond.  I had brought a snack for them, but still.  I was just amazed how well they entertained each other and played with other kids waiting in line as well.  Sweet angels, these two!

They helped me vote when it was finally our turn.  They thought it was really cool to push the buttons!

These girls had fun at home, too.  Check out their forts they made!

Oct. 20 Pumpkin Carving Party

Our friends, Ben and Jessica, hosted a pumpkin carving party!  It was really fun.  I let Addy pick out her pumpkin and she chose a white one.  That gave me an idea... She could COLOR her pumpkin instead of carving it!  Steven and I just aren't big on carving pumpkins with her yet.  She's still too young to really be involved.  Addy was super excited about coloring her pumpkin!

Notice Addy is the only one working on her own pumpkin!

Corn hole!  The kids played first, but then some of the dads played a few games.  Steven and his partner won!

Addy playing with Rex's train table.  Definitely one of her favorite things to play with at their house!

Then once it was dark, they had a candy hunt in the yard.  The kids LOVED looking for candy only using flashlights!  Brilliant idea.  The kids were so excited and found all but 2 pieces of candy!

One of the party favors: Dracula teeth!

Oktoberfest 2012

Steven was working a double shift on Saturday the 13th, so Addy and I met up with some friends in German Town to celebrate Oktoberfest!

The music was fun, kind of New Orleans jazz style!  (There was some polka music, too, but this band was playing jazz)

There were finger puppets!  We didn't buy any though, since Addy got so many for Christmas last year.

And dogs!  Dogs everywhere.  And Addy wanted to pet every last one of them!

A couple of my coworkers, Two Men and a Baby style :)

Someone had a lot of fun, and passed out on the way home!  Sweet girl.

9th Anniversary

A few days after we returned home from Ft Myers, Steven and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary on Oct. 11.  We went out to dinner and spent the evening with Addy!

Ft Myers, FL Oct. 4-8

We went to Ft Myers to attend my cousin Justin's wedding!  It was such a fun long weekend.  We left early on Thursday morning, which meant Addy caught a little nap on the plane!  So sweet.

Peeking out the window just before landing:

We arrived at our hotel just in time to eat dinner with several of our family that also arrived on Thursday.

Friday was the day of the wedding.  Since the wedding wasn't until 6:00 p.m., we spent the day at the pool!

Then it was wedding time!  It was a beautiful wedding.  Super fun, too!

I love that Justin stayed turned around until Brandi walked down the aisle!  Very sweet moment.

Cousins that have always been like sisters to me!

Addy and Alex:

Me with Uncle Mike:

They had a photo booth for all the guests.  It was so much fun!  The kids loved it.  After taking our picture, they printed out the photo strip giving one to us to keep and put another one in a scrap book for Justin and Brandi.  Then we got to sign our names by our pictures in the scrap book.  Very cool idea!

Jack and Addy:

First dance...with the kiddos throwing petals for them!

Addy and Brynn:

This picture cracks me up!  I have no idea what I'm telling Michelle, but the look on her face makes me think I was explaining the Korean rapper Psy's Gangnam Style dance?!

Siblings:
It was also Trish's birthday and they had an extra cake for her!

Bubbles!  We got to blow bubbles as Justin and Brandi left for the evening.  Addy went through 2 bottles of bubbles in no time!

Such a beautiful wedding, and a really fun night with our family!

Saturday brought a fun day at the pool.  Our family pretty much took over the whole pool area at the hotel!  24 adults and 12 kids!  It was nice the hotel had a grill by the pool, so we were able to grill hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch.

Notice Dan is on the very bottom, under water!

 Strike a pose, Michelle!

Saturday evening the cousins went to Bonita Beach and the aunts and uncles went out to dinner together.  We picked up pizzas on our way to the beach and stayed until sunset.  It was beautiful!

My girl cousins, minus one that wasn't able to make the trip (in age order...hint, I'm the youngest in this picture!):

And our kids!  Not lined up in age order :)  It was a task to just get them all in the same picture!

Great time for family pictures as well!

We all met up at Mike and Pam's house for dessert:

Sunday was a really low-key day.  Most of our family had left by late morning.  We spent the day at the pool with Michelle and her family.

Alex, Addy, and Jack:

This is funny.  As Alex and Addy were sitting in the chair together, Addy said to Alex, "I'm Sleeping Beauty and you're my prince.  You need to wake me up, Prince."  And she proceeds to close her eyes.  Alex, having no clue what she's talking about ignores her.  Addy repeats herself.  Alex still has no clue what she's talking about and gets up out of the chair and gets in the pool.  Addy follows him saying, "I'm coming with you, Prince!"  He still has no idea why she keeps calling him Prince!  It was hilarious!

For dinner we all joined Mike and Pam, and Ron and Diane at the restaurant 2 Meatballs in the Kitchen.  It was delicious!  Michelle and I enjoyed the pineapple upside down cake martini!

A great final evening in Ft Myers!  We had a great time visiting with our family and celebrating with Justin and Brandi.

Our flight left at 6:00 a.m. on Monday morning!  We all slept on the plane from Ft Myers to Atlanta, and then had time to grab a quick breakfast during our layover.  Dunkin Donuts, breakfast of champions!  And a big treat for Addy!
