MN Trip (Part 2) June 30 - July 8

After having a fun week with Grandma and Grandpa E., it was time for Addy to go spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa L.  They spent the entire time at the lake.  They were blessed with fantastic weather and made the most of it!

Playing dress up with stuffed animals:

Helping Grandpa clean:

Addy napped on the boat most days:

Addy loved driving the boat:

Grandpa got donuts for breakfast:

Addy really loved swimming and playing in the water near the beach.  She could walk out pretty far before it got too deep for her.
Addy on the pontoon with "Dizzy Dougie" as she called him:

Addy's morning wear:

Thursday, July 4th:  Jeff, Michelle, and the boys stopped by to visit on the way up to their parents' houses.  Steven and I flew up that day as well.  It was SO good to see our sweet girl again.  It had been 2 weeks since I'd seen her!

Addy "waterskiing" in the boat:

Jack, Addy, and Alex:

Grandpa taking the kiddos for a ride on his 4-wheeler:

This is what 3 tired kids look like after a day of playing at the lake!

So nice to just read Addy a book again!

We did some 4-wheeling, too:

We borrowed this tube from Judy and Doug's friends.  Addy enjoyed playing with it at the shore more than riding it!

We did ride it, too.  She did well with it, but it just wasn't her favorite thing to do.

Addy much preferred just being the motor boat  herself and giving rides to anyone that was willing to take one!

Addy discovered the chairs and cords from the mini blinds could double as a horse and carriage:

Saturday we went to Diane and Ron's house for the day.  Jack and Alex did some fishing off the dock and Addy held one of the fish that Jack caught.

Then she tried to help the fish back to the water...and missed, poor fish.  :)  Eventually, one of the boys got the fish back into the water.

Then Michelle, Jack, and Addy went out on the paddle boat (with a little trolling motor on it) and Alex took the kayak out.

Alex got too tired to bring it back, so Michelle had to help him out.  It looks like Addy's on the paddle boat alone, but Jack is on the back using the trolling motor ;)

This is one of my favorite pictures of Addy.  It was just before she and Steven went tubing.  Such a cool girl.

Addy really liked tubing this time around.  She preferred lying on top of the tube instead of sitting in it.  How cute is she?

Being brave!

Addy loved these trikes that Ron and Diane have.  She spent a lot of time tooling around on it!

Alex (6), Addy (4), and Jack (10):

On Sunday, mom and I got to do some skiing!  It had been a couple years for me, but I could still do it!  I can't wait until Addy learns.  Hopefully next summer?

After skiing, we finally convinced Addy to get in the lake and swim with us!

Dan, Trish, and Brynn stopped by to visit for the day.  Addy was brave again and wanted to go tubing with Brynn as long as we went slowly.  Those two had such a good time together!  Addy loved being silly with Brynn.

Monday we had to go home.  We ended up flying to Knoxville and driving back to Nashville since the flights to Nashville were so full.  Addy looked like this most of the drive:

Sweet girl had such a good time in MN.  We're SO thankful that she was able to spend the two weeks with both sets of grandparents!  I really don't take that for granted what a blessing it is for Addy that she can and gets to do that.

Compared to last year, the transition for her coming back home wasn't bad at all.  She did really well.  It could be that she's a year older, and that Steven and I were there at the end of her trip?  Either way, she did great and had a really great time!
