Finally, The Requested Pictures!

Wow, it only took me a little more than 5 months to do this! Many of you have requested belly pictures along the way, and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get this blog updated! I thought I'd start with the latest picture, taken this week at 37 weeks, and work my way back to the first picture we took at 13 weeks.







Things are going really well. I had a doctor appointment on Wednesday, and I'm dilated to 1 cm. Which, I know, doesn't really mean anything, but we're getting there! We're definitely excited to be so close to "d-day"! I think we're pretty much ready for her to come any time. We're still working on decorating her room, but that is coming along too. I'll post pictures of the nursery in the next blog...which won't take me 5 months, I promise!

All Moved In

Sorry, again, for the lack of posts! It's been a very busy month around here. We finally moved into the house on Aug. 28, after living in a hotel for 4 weeks! We're so happy to be in our new house. Moving went well, no thanks to me. My mom and my mother-in-law did not pass on the "no morning sickness" gene on to me. I'd like to rename it "morning, noon, and evening sickness". My parents were here, and along with Steven, got us all settled in. There are tons of little things that need to get done yet, but we're pretty settled for the most part.

Here's some pictures of what's been going on around here in the last month:

Spreading straw over the seed. They call it the "salad shooter". Great for allergies!
We hired our landscaping to be done, since there was little chance we'd get it done ourselves.

We're really pleased with how our landscaping turned out, and how quickly it got done! The grass is doing pretty well too, considering we haven't had any rain for the last 3 weeks. We'll have to over seed our yard every fall for the next few years to have nice grass like we are accustomed to in MN.

On a side note: Sadie is doing pretty well. She does have a sarcoma and still limps because of it, but she's getting around quite well. She loves lying on the back porch. She's also made friends with the two puppies next door, both which are rottweiler mixes!

Pictures of Progress

The HVAC upstairs did get done yesterday. The hot water heater is supposed to be vented out tomorrow. The painters finally showed up today to get started. They painted our built-ins in the family room and a couple of doors. They have a lot to do yet, but we're just glad they showed up today!

I've tried to get the carpet in the pictures, but this first one isn't very good since it's so dusty! The shelves for the built-ins are drying in the garage.



This is the fireplace in the bonus room. We're really happy with how the stone turned out. The painters didn't get to this mantle today, but it will eventually be white as well.

Sorry!

Sorry it's been so long since we've updated! I'll do my best to catch things up. No pictures right now, but we need to take some and post them. Things are moving along, slower than we'd like, but what's new? We're still living in the hotel. I'm praying this is our last week there. I think 3 weeks is plenty!

Our driveway is done, wood floors done, carpet is in, and we have steps on the front and back porches. All of our plumbing fixtures are done, toilets working, shower doors in...so what's left? The HVAC unit hasn't been completely installed upstairs, again, something left half done. Our gas water heater hasn't been vented to the outside yet. We need 3 more truck loads of dirt to be brought in so the grading can be finished. And A LOT of touch up painting needs to be done.

We desperately want to move out of the hotel and into the house by the end of the week, please pray that will happen! We miss Sadie so much! She's been staying at Pet Resorts of America, and when we call and check on her, they say she's doing great and that she's very sweet. Of course we knew that, but we miss her terribly!

Almost There...

Sorry for such a delay in getting these pictures posted! We've been busy getting ready to move. The painting is done, with the exception of touch-ups, and all our lighting fixtures have been installed. They're just about done with the plumbing fixtures, just 2.5 toilets to go...I know, seriously, why leave after putting in 1.5 toilets?

Today our driveway is getting poured. Then if all goes well, this week our HVAC unit will be installed, wood floors done, and carpet should go in. THEN we can finally move in!

We had to move out of our condo we were renting this weekend and into a hotel. My mom and dad came down to help us move, thanks mom and dad! It's not exactly the arrangement we were hoping for, but the hotel is nice. Hopefully things will happen this week as they are supposed to, and we can move in next weekend.
